What is PoSP?
Point of Sale Person (PoSP) is an IRDAI approved broker trained person for
soliciting and marketing
insurance policies. He can solicit and market only certain pre underwritten products approved by the
Authority (IRDAI).
Every PoSP shall be identified by his/her Aadhaar card no. or PAN card No. The
minimum qualification to become PoSP is atleast 10th pass.
Before engaging with any Insurer or
Intermediary, PoSP must undergo the 15 hrs. In-House training and give examination. After passing
the examination, he/she has been issued a certificate of authorization to act as Point of Sale
person and an agreement from particular Insurer or Intermediary. At a time PoSP can be engaged with
only one Insurer or Intermediary.
